DUNLIN COTTAGE
Your cosy Cornish hideaway with a big heart.
Tucked away on one of Penryn’s prettiest granite-lined streets, Dunlin Cottage is the kind of place that wraps around you the moment you step inside. With original character, a glowing log burner, and a peaceful garden to unwind in, this two-bedroom retreat is perfect for small families, couples, or solo adventurers looking for a slower pace and a little charm.
Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting living space where low-beamed ceilings, soft throws and that lovely wood-burning stove set the tone for laid-back evenings after days spent exploring the coast. The country-style kitchen diner is flooded with natural light, with a big table made for slow breakfasts, shared dinners, or even the odd board game marathon. Open the doors and you’re out in the garden - a suntrap in summer and a peaceful place to breathe year-round.
Upstairs, there’s a king-size bedroom for a proper night’s rest and a single room with a pull-out trundle bed, making this home just as suited to a couple’s getaway as it is to a small family holiday. There’s also a sweet summerhouse tucked away in the garden with an extra trundle bed and its own toilet - perfect for teenagers wanting space or a quiet afternoon nap spot.
Whether it’s a winter retreat or a summer base for adventures, Dunlin Cottage brings together everything you love about Cornwall: history, warmth, and that magical feeling of slowing down.
Neighbourhood
Old-world charm with a quietly cool edge.
Penryn is one of Cornwall’s hidden gems - a historic harbour town that blends timeless character with a refreshing creative spirit. Just a stone’s throw from the energy of Falmouth, it offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful base to unwind, and easy access to great food, culture, and coastlines.
Wander the cobbled streets and you’ll pass restored granite cottages, tucked-away courtyards, and working boatyards that hint at the town’s rich maritime past. But this isn’t just a place frozen in time. Thanks to the nearby university campus, Penryn hums with life - there’s an unexpected buzz here, with artisan bakeries, independent shops, and laid-back cafés that serve up locally roasted coffee and sea views.
Stop in at traditional pubs like the 600-year-old The Thirsty Scholar, or head into Falmouth for beach days, boutique shopping, and some of the best seafood Cornwall has to offer. You’re also perfectly placed to explore further afield - whether it’s kayaking on the Helford River, strolling the gardens at Trelissick, or hopping on the ferry to St Mawes.
Penryn feels lived-in and local - quiet, but never dull. It’s the kind of place where people say hello, dogs nap in doorways, and time stretches out a little longer. Once you’re here, you’ll understand why it’s so loved by those who find it.
