BEL AIR FOWEY

Wake slowly in Fowey, with the sea air in the breeze and the harbour town just beyond your door. Bel Air is a cosy, design led studio with a king size bed, a clever pocket door kitchen, and a suntrap terrace made for coffee, books and late lunches. Wander cobbled streets, hop on a boat, walk to hidden coves, then return to your own quiet corner at Foye Landing.

THE SPACE

Bel Air at Foye Landing is the kind of place you book when you want Cornwall to feel effortless. A quiet, beautifully put together studio hideaway where everything has been thought through, and the best bits of Fowey are right there waiting for you.

Arrive, step onto the terrace, and you’ll feel it straight away. That little lift in your chest that says you’ve landed somewhere special. In warm weather this becomes your extra room. Coffee first thing, a lazy lunch, a glass of something cold as the light softens, and the harbour town hums gently nearby.

Inside, Bel Air is cosy in the best way. A king size bed you’ll actually sleep well in, a dining table for two for slow breakfasts or a takeout feast from town, and a well equipped kitchen that can be closed off with a pocket door so the space stays calm and uncluttered. It’s a clever layout that lets you settle in properly, whether you’re here for a long weekend or a midweek reset.

The bathroom is a generous size with a shower, perfect after a day on the coast path or an afternoon on the water. And if you’re staying a little longer, you’ll love the shared utility room, fully equipped with a large fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dryer. It’s one of those practical touches that makes a holiday feel easy, especially after beach days and boat trips.

Bel Air is one of two apartments at Foye Landing, alongside The Loft. The access is shared, and guests for The Loft pass by the terrace to reach their place, so you may bump into fellow holiday makers and swap a smile or a local tip. Downstairs at ground level you’ve got a proper holiday treat, the famous Game of Cones.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Fowey is one of those places that gets under your skin. An ancient harbour town with a proper sense of life to it, boats coming and going, narrow streets and steep little lanes, independent shops, and a food scene that punches well above its size. It’s lively without feeling loud, stylish without trying too hard, and it always feels like there’s something happening on the water.

Spend your days wandering the waterfront, hopping between pubs, bars and restaurants, or picking up something delicious to bring back and eat on the terrace. If you love being outdoors, you’re perfectly placed for the South West Coast Path, with stunning walks and beaches close by, including Readymoney Cove and the beautiful route towards Polkerris via the Gribbin Daymark, a favourite of Daphne du Maurier.

Fowey is also a town with stories. The Literary Festival celebrates the writers who’ve lived and worked here, and you can feel that creative, slightly romantic atmosphere in the mix of medieval and Victorian architecture, especially when you see it from the water. Hire a boat from the Town Quay and you’ll get a whole new view of the estuary, the houses stacked along the hills, and the coastline stretching out beyond.

If you’re exploring further afield, buses run regularly to nearby towns like St Austell and Truro, and there’s also a circular town bus that helps with the hills for anyone who wants an easier pace.

OTHER INFO

YOUR ACCESS TO BEL AIR

Access is independent, via a stone staircase up the right hand side of the building to a gated entrance.

From the gate, there is a flight of stairs up, then along a cobbled walkway leading to your private deck and entrance. The stairs are quite steep, so it’s worth bearing in mind for anyone with limited mobility or heavy luggage.

PARKING

Parking in Fowey is mainly public and paid, and that’s completely normal for a harbour town. The good news is there are two car parks close by, so you can arrive, park up, and relax.

Nearest option
Caffa Mill Car Park is the closest paid public parking. It’s £7 per day or £17.40 for a week which is great value if you’re staying longer. It can get busy in peak season, and spaces aren’t guaranteed. If you move your car at busy times, you may not get a space again.

Second option
The Old Station Masters Car Park is a few minutes further on and is a handy backup if Caffa Mill is full. It’s £1 per hour or £6.50 for 24 hours.

PLEASE NOTE

Long-term stays allowed 28 days or more
No smoking
No parties or events

Regretfully no pets

Not suitable for children or infants

The utility room is a shared amenity for guests within the building and includes a washer dryer and a fridge freezer.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to risk of fire from lithium batteries, items such as electric bikes and electric scooters, including batteries, must not be stored or re charged in this property at any time.
