THE SPACE

Chy Meur is made for those holidays where everyone actually relaxes. It’s a handsome Victorian villa with real presence, granite walls, tall proportions, and that lovely sense of space you only get in these older coastal homes, now brought up to date with a thoughtful overhaul so it feels fresh, comfortable and easy to live in.

The heart of the house is the bright kitchen dining room, the place where mornings start slowly and plans get made over coffee. It’s properly set up for group stays, with loads of fridge space and all the cooking kit you need, and a layout that keeps everyone together without feeling on top of each other. When it’s time to wind down, there’s a generous sitting room for films, chats and post beach lounging, with superfast Wi-Fi and Sky for cosy evenings in.

Upstairs, the layout is one of the best bits. Alongside four lovely double bedrooms, there’s an extra room that works brilliantly as a study, a quiet reading nook, a kids’ den, or simply somewhere to spread out, unpack and make the place feel like home. The top floor bedroom suite is a real treat, light filled and spacious with its own en-suite shower room, a little retreat of its own at the top of the house (the stairs up are steeper than standard, in true Victorian style). There’s also a ground floor double bedroom overlooking the patio with no stairs, ideal if someone in your group prefers to keep things simple.

Outside, the private rear patio is a real bonus in central Falmouth. It’s sunny, secure, and set up for easy afternoons and unhurried evenings, fire up the BBQ, pour a drink, and let the day drift on. You’ll also have a private parking space at the rear, plus additional free street parking nearby, so arriving and heading out for day trips is straightforward.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

This is one of those “park up and walk everywhere” Falmouth spots. Gylly Beach is close enough for early swims, sandy sunsets and café stops without needing to plan your day around it. The town centre is also an easy walk, so you can dip into independent shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants, then wander home without thinking about taxis or parking.

For everyday bits, there’s a handy Spar just a few minutes away, perfect for fresh pastries in the morning or stocking up for the beach.

GETTING AROUND

You can do most of your stay on foot from here, beach, town, coastal path, it’s all within easy reach. If you’re exploring further afield, the private parking space makes it simple to head out for Cornwall days, whether that’s a different beach, a garden visit, or a harbour town lunch, then come back to your own calm, spacious base in Falmouth.
