The Merchant’s House is a stunning historic 2- bedroom home in the heart of Penryn. This extraordinary 17th Century property is a perfect fit for a weekend away or a longer stay. A unique blend of historic character and modern comfort awaits you. Recently renovated, its historic features include a barrel-vaulted ceiling, restored 17th century windows and joinery and an ornate 1630 plaster ceiling. 


On a cobbled pedestrian street in the centre of town with a designated free parking space.

 

The space

The house is over two floors and provides ample space to chill out. 
Living Room is on the ground floor has stunning Jacobean ceilings and a great fireplace, and is equipped with comfortable sofas, TV, board games and books.

Fully equipped modern Kitchen on the upper floor with large dining table, dishwasher, oven, and washing machine. The spacious kitchen has an abundance of natural light and, extending out to a long Balcony with scenic views over the harbour and estuary of Penryn.

Two Bed rooms that sleep four people, consisting the ground floor twin bedroom contains two 2 single beds and has its own bathroom with bath and shower. The upstairs master bedroom has a King bed, a barrel-vaulted ceiling and 17th century plasterwork with access to a separate shower room. Recently renovated, its historic features include a barrel-vaulted ceiling, restored 17th century windows and joinery and an ornate 1630 plaster ceiling.


The house has had a full renovation and provides the comfort of modern living in a historical setting. 

There is now a double sofa bed in the main living rooms downstairs, that would sleep an additional 2 people with a small additional fee. Contact the owner to check. 

Towels and bed linen provided.

For added privacy the house has a private entrance.

LITTLE THINGS TO NOTE

Convenient for Penryn and Falmouth campus. Yacht marinas are a short walk away. farm Shop 5 mins walk away and a yoga studio and cafe. Fish and Chip shop close by and a Spar plus a fabulous pizza restaurant and numerous pubs. The bus takes you into Falmouth a few minutes’ walk away and runs often, and Falmouth beaches are 8 minutes’ drive. The train station is no more than 15 mins away. Sunshine yoga studio and cafe close by.

 

The property comfortably sleeps 4 adults and an infant, and happily welcomes a pet.

PARKING

Very few properties in the centre of Penryn benefit from immediate parking, fortunately Merchants House is one of them. You can park your car securely in its space in the and follow the pedestrian street up to the private front door of the house.
